Colloquium Transatlanticum

The Colloquium is an independent network of medieval scholars from Europe and the USA. Its roots can be traced back to the fifth Medieval History Seminar, held at the German Historical Institute (Washington D.C.) in autumn 2007. As a network, however, the Colloquium Transatlanticum is not institutionally connected to the GHI. Annual colloquia organized by its members in their respective home countries form the heart of the network’s activities. They are essentially conceptualized as workshops rather than public conferences and serve to both foster the (free-floating) exchange of ideas and mutual aid for on-going research. Moreover, it is to promote cooperative projects among the network’s members.
